Hello,
I'm Dennis Foy, the author of "Automotive Telematics," a book written with both beginners and pros in mind.
Put simply, telematics is the transmission of useful information (data) to and from a vehicle, and in our modern hi-tech digital world, it's an industry that's mushrooming.
Automotive Telematics is the first book to investigate these radical new technologies. And believe me, these technologies will shape our lives!
From the way cars are built, to the incredible ways in which telematics will revolutionize the entire driving experience and how we travel, you'll find everything explained in Automotive Telematics.
"Covering hot topics, and produced in response to a demand from the
telematics industry. An independent and impartial publication regarding
[Automotive Telematics] history, developments and trends."
– its@ertico, newsletter of Ertico European telematics organisation
Inside Information Revealed
Stolen vehicle tracking is telematics in action; when a car is stolen it's now possible to track its whereabouts on a remote computer screen. How is it done? Why bother? And does it reduce the cost of recovery? Automotive Telematics has the answers.
Is it true that every time you use a satellite-based route guidance system, somebody, somewhere knows where you are? Get the facts in Automotive Telematics.
Tomorrow's cars – which are much nearer than you think – will be built in an entirely different way than those already on our roads. Only in Automotive Telematics can you learn exactly what that means to you, and discover how those cars will be both simpler and more complex at the same time.
And just how much of a dream is the concept of cars that drive themselves along highways? Science fiction? Or science fact? This is just one of the hot topics that's thoroughly explored and analysed in the pages of Automotive Telematics. You might be shocked!
"This reviewer wouldn't have thought a book with such a title could prove to be so riveting. As a non-techie I found this book on telematics fascinating and enlightening."
– Guardian Newspaper, UK
